Well that Sucks
So I was finally able to get a hold of the MN Ren Fest people, and was told: Ren Fest does not have stage room for "Totally Hot" this year. We could get street contracts, but would not be paid at all, and still have to pay for our tent sight. So basically we would need to pay in order to provide them with entertainment. Ultimate Transformer Fan Contest
So as you may or may not know, Jules, Myself and our friend Joleen are finalists in the Ultimate Transformer Fan Contest. At the moment it is at the public voting stage. So if you wouldn't mind please go to: http://www.etonline.com/transformers/ and vote. (Preferably for one of us.) You can do so once a day until June 10th. The winner receives a trip to LA to see the premier of the new Transformers movie. If you are willing to post this info in your LJ's I would appreciate it, but I understand not wanting to spam friends and family. If you do send it to people that do not know me, I am the video with my Top Hat, so I am hard to miss, while Jules and Joleen actually remembered to state their names, and you can tell that they are all connected. (As we video tapped all of them together, so have the same setup.) Everyday Gods: And Then the Party Happened!
Hey everyone, I have confirmed that I will be having the Book Release party on April 18th 2009 from 5:00pm t0 10:30pm. It will be at the Sheraton Bloomington Hotel. 7800 Normandale Blvd, Bloomington MN I want to stress that this is a celebration of the release as much as it is a place to sell some of the first copies. I don't expect everyone who comes to buy a book, I just want to celebrate the fact I have released this with friends and supporters. There will be refreshments and conversation, in addition to looking at the book. I hope people can make it. I have a book!
So I haven't been saying much about this, as I wasn't sure it would work, but..... I HAVE A BOOK PUBLISHED!!!!! Okay, it is self published, but its still published. It is "Everyday Gods: And Then Something Happened", a collection of the first few story archs of my on line web comic. I am very excited. Pre-orders for the book will begin next week. I don't want to put details here, because I don't want this to be an advertisement so if you do want details check out: www.everydaygods.com sometime after Monday. (The announcement will be under the news section.) However, on April 18th I will be having a book release party, and even if you don't want to buy a book I would love to have friends show up for the support. Details on the party will come later (still hammering out details on the location) but I wanted to let people know the date if you wanted to come. I never really thought I would have anything of mine in print. To be able to hold a comic book in my hand and look at my name on the cover, it's just strange. It is in it's second year now. Everyday Gods2) I consider myself an actor. I have been in a couple of Community Theater projects this year alone, as well as a stage act at the MN Ren Fest. Also I play Willy Wonka at CONvergence for a room party I help host. (I guess that could be separated into a couple of things but I think they all fall under the acting. 3) I am co-owner of my own business with my wife dddragonlady , Mohr Creations. 4) I am a self proclaimed geek and proud of it. This comes in the form of: Comics (Transformers), Sci Fi (I have way to much Babylon 5 knowledge for my own good., Bond, James Bond (Yes I am going to a midnight showing tomorrow), Gaming (D&D and White Wolf), and so many more. 5) I can never go into a Target, Wal Mart, etc without looking at the toy section. 6) Um, I think I ran out of stuff..... um, oh I know, I like to make Sushi. Geek Credit Rising
So I going to be having two midnight lines in as many days. Last night it was for World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King. Even bought the Collectors Edition. Tonight it is a midnight show of the new Bond film. I feel a bit pathetic, but I am enjoying every minute of it. And I am glad I get to share this fall into geekyness with dddragonlady . Whooo! On Stage again
Tomorrow is the opening night for the Fantasticks. I am looking forward to performing again in front of an audience. It has been a lot of fun, being able to act so much this past year and look forward to continuing to do so in the future. (Hopefully more directors will let me do so. ;) ) Anyway, in this show dddragonlady and I, play a couple of old actors. My character is definitely past his prime, but doesn't realize it. I hope to get a lot of laughs. And you have to see dddragonlady 's death scenes. They are hilarious. Totally Hot hits Ren Fest
That's right true believers! goat1of4, dddragonlady, pisces3857, and myself have put together a stage act for the Minnesota Ren Fest which begins this coming weekend. It is a comedy act with some fire tricks involved. We wrote the script ourselves, so are very excited about it. If you make it out to Fest drop by and catch the act. The last information we have been given is we will be on Treetop Stage, times to be announced. Again if you have a chance come see, Capitan Long John Indeed, Crispy Edwardo, Ember, and Bruce. Cats on Opening Night
So last night was the opening night of Cats. It went really well. I however have something to say to all of you people that say Break a Leg. I didn't but..... ;) Instead I just had the edge of the set cut into my leg. I managed to get blood on my costume, and of course have this injury occur just before my fight scene. The good news: Of all the characters, mine makes the most sense to have a blood spot, plus it actually blends with the other colors. And no one noticed I was injured during the fight. Yay for ignoring pain. ;) Also dddragonlady gave me a red rose for opening night, and pisces3857 gave me a white rose. All in all, I think it went really well. Tickets Are Going Fast.... or so I hope.
Yes it is almost time. Tomorrow is the opening night of Cats, presented by the Heritage Theater. Now why would I post that? Well if you haven't been reading my LJ, dddragonlady's LJ, or reading Everyday Gods, I'm not going to tell you... ... ... ... Okay you twisted my arm. dddragonlady and myself are performing in it. pisces3857 will be running the sound board. I will be playing Macavity. (For those that do not know the play well, that is the closest thing it has to a villain.) We would love people to come. It is at the Maplewood Community Center on White Bear Ave, just South of Hwy 36 (About a mile if that.) The performances are: Friday May 2nd 7:30pm Saturday May 3rd 7:30pm Sunday May 4th 2:00pm, Friday May 9th 7:30 Saturday May 10th 7:30 Sunday May 11th 2:00 Friday May 16th 7:30pm Saturday May 17th 7:30pm Sunday May 18th 2:00 It is $15 a ticket. dddragonlady and I are finally on the cusp of starting our own business. The business will include selling her jewelry, and my art. Everyday Gods stuff included of course. I hope to have a lot of fun with this, even though set up has interesting. We are also going to have a livejournal aimed specifically at a log of what we are working on. I will also be adding most of my entries to my art blog, so if you read that too, you may get double entries, however anything that is just a hobby for me, will still wind up there. Holy Crap I'm and actor again!
Wednesday night, dddragonlady and I tried out for the Heritage Theater's production of Cats. Earlier today I found out that we both made it! dddragonlady got a part in the Chorus. I was pleasantly surprised when I was offered a named role. I was given the part of Macavity. The mystery cat. I have been told this is a good role for me, though I have never actually seen Cats. I am very excited though, I get to act again. I have missed it a great deal. Of course this is going to make the next couple months extremely interesting. Over the next few months I will be practicing for Cats, preparing to audition for Fest with a new stage act, and preparing for Wonka's Night Out.
